JULY – Time to get ready to start to apply for teaching jobs
Not everyone goes on holiday at the end of the school year. In fact, the prime summer months are a great time to apply to teaching jobs. By the time July comes around, most schools will have a very clear idea of their hiring needs for September.
This is a busy time when schools reach out to candidates and conduct more interviews. It’s the most proactive hiring phase of the school year and it known to schools that you are looking for work, then this is the perfect time.
This is one of the many reasons that we launched Evolve Teachers. Once you have created your online profile, you can choose to be found by schools. This means that whilst you are sitting on the beach, or enjoying your garden, schools could be viewing your profile and letting you know about their opportunities.
AUGUST – Get ready for interviews
August is a hot hiring month! As many school staff return from their summer breaks, they start conducting interviews to continue filling their staffing needs. In fact, it is not uncommon for schools to hire the bulk of their new teachers two weeks before the start of the new school year!
It pays to be super organised during this time as many new jobs will start to appear. Be sure to have your Evolve Teachers profile up to date. It makes apply for jobs so much quicker and easier. This summer you won’t need to spend all your time filling out application forms. Our one click apply makes it simple.
SEPTEMBER – it’s not all over
Did you know that 1 in 5 teachers are recruited in September?
Believe it or not, the final two weeks before school starts is a lot of last-minute teaching jobs appear. Final enrolment numbers and budgets come in, and this can create a last minute rush to find teachers.
It’s not uncommon that teachers are hired the day before students arrive back to the classroom. In fact, many teachers say that they secured jobs days, or even weeks, after school began.
